Bengaluru FC 3-0 Shillong Lajong FC

Bengaluru FC make a good start to the I-league 2017 campaign, by beating Shillong Lajong FC, 3-0.

Bengaluru FC hosted Shillong Lajong FC yesterday at Sree Kanteerva Stadium in Bangalore in the second match of the Hero I-League 2017 campaign. Home team wore pink to support women’s safety in the city.

Game kicked off with Shillong Lajong FC having the possession. Both the teams failed to make any damage on the opponent’s goal. Bengaluru FC came close with Eugenson’s corner. Strikers failed to make the most of it. Fisrt half seemed a bit messy as both the teams were loosing on the ball possession. The goal came from Udanta’s foot, when a cross into the visitor’s box was not cleared well. Udanta tapped in neatly to put the home side on the lead. Bengaluru boys almost scored the second of the game. Eugenson had an one-on-one chance in the box, but failed to score. The bounce back came to the Sunil’s feet, who hit the post. The score line stayed 1-0 at the half time.

Bengaluru FC played high against the visitors by constantly attacking and building pressure on the Shillong defense. Bengaluru FC held on with the ball possession well and created many chances, but were somehow blocked from converting. In the 68th min, Udanta got his second goal of the match and the season. Udanta cleverly tricking the Shillong defense and converting it into a goal helped the home side to increase their lead. Bengaluru FC defense cut down all the passes of the Shillong team at the half line. Bengaluru FC maintained the pressing game even after the second goal. The pressure was increased when CK Vineet was brought in for Daniel.

Home side played in the visitor’s half for complete second half. Sena Ralte was the third goal scorer, and one of the best and cracking goal of the season. Sena, in his first game scored a smashing goal 30 yards from the post. Final score line was 3-0 in favor of the home side.

Udanta was the man of the match for his brace.
