The FIFA U-17 World cup 2017 India concluded with the finals being played by England and Spain.
The first FIFA tournament played by India was a big hit and pulled in large crowds despite the hosts early exit.
England U-17 went on to lift the trophy following a thrilling win over Spain U-17, the game eventually finishing with a scoreline of 5-2. Spain took a two goal headstart in Kolkata via Sergio Gomez, Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster however gave England some hope by striking right on the edge of half time. Spain would’ve still been confident of securing a win, having beaten England in the U-17 Euros earlier this year. England scored the equaliser in the 56th courtesy of GibbsWhite. Foden one of the stars of the tournament made it 3-2 in the 68th. The fourth came from Marc Guehi of Chelsea and the game was killed off in the 87th when England scored their fifth goal without reply through Foden again.
The England U-17s continued the strong run of performances by the English youth teams, who won the U-20 WC as well.
It was a spectacular end to a glorious tournament and the host nation played a big part in the success, attracting massive crowds and creating grand atmospheres despite India making an early exit.
