Bengaluru FC’s second win at home

Bengaluru FC faced Delhi Dynamos in the Hero Indian Super League 2017-18 season at Sree Kanteerva Stadium in Bengaluru today (26-11-2017).

Bengaluru FC got a comfortable three points at home as they were able to thrash the Delhi Lions with a score-line of 4-1. Home team are now on the top of the table with two successive wins out of two games so far.

Bengaluru FC started off with attacking mode on and ahd almost managed to get a lead in the 6th minute. Edu Garcia found Miku on his free-kick from the left wing. Miku tried to headed in but the post saved it for the visitors. In the 8th minute, Delhi Dynamos created a chance on the counter. Paulinho Dias found himself in the space where hi can shoot. His powerful shot was straight in the hands of Sandhu.

Bengaluru FC continued their high pressing and attacking game. In the 15th minute, Miku tried his luck with shot on goal. But Albino Gomes was alert and made a cleaver save.

It was in the 24th minute when Paartalu scored the opener. The chance was created through a free-kick, which was well delivered inside the Delhi’s box. Khabra managed to get a touch on the ball on his head which went to Paartalu who then headed it home cleanly.

After this goal, visitors started building attacks in search of the equalizer. But the Bengaluru’s defense line was too strong to be beaten by the visiting lions. In the 41st minute, BFC almost scored their second. A delightful assist by the skipper Sunil to Edu gave him chance to take a shot. But his shot from Edu’s weaker foot made Gomes to save it on the stretch.

45+3 on referee’s clock and BFC had their second goal. This time a curling in corner from Edu made Paartalu to raise himself high and score his second of the evening with a header. With this goal both the teams entered the half time break.

At half time score was 2-0 to home side.

Home side kept the same game intensity as they had in the first half which resulted in their third. In the 57th minute, Udanta found himself in a space to shot on a through ball by his skipper. Udanta’s shot was blocked by Gomes, but the rebound came to Lenny’s feet who just placed it in for his first and BFC’s third of the evening. Fans became louder and louder with every minute.

In the 76th minute, Miku failed to get the fourth goal for his side on a one on one situation. But Gomes came out with superb save and managed to keep the ball out of his goal line and denying Miku.

It was in the 86th minute when the visitors earned themselves a penalty. Delhi’s attack and Seityasen’s cross inside the box unfortunately touched John Johnson’s arm and referee awarded a penalty for the visitors. Delhi Dynamos’s skipper stepped on for the penalty and and calmly sent Sandhu the wrong side and scored from the spot kick.

This wasn’t the end of the show. Immediately in the next minute, Bengaluru FC got their fourth goal. It was again Chhetri to create the chance. His assist to Miku was well collected and he managed to beat one of the defender before his could put the ball into nets. Gomes was unable to save it this time.
