Kerala Blasters FC played their 13th game against Delhi Dynamos FC in the Hero Indian Super League season 4 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi today (27/1/2018)
Kerala Blasters FC started the first half amidst the yellow sea and both the teams had a must win game. First attack was built by the home side, but the failed to get the final touch which made the Delhi defense to get the possession.
10 minutes into the game, visitors had a small chance from a corner, but Pritam failed head the ball on target resulting in a goal kick for the home team. On the other end, two minutes later, Milan Singh took a smashing long range shot to test Arnab on the goal. Arnab managed to stop the shot but couldn’t grab it well as a result Hume pounced on the free ball and tap it in. But the goal wasn’t allowed as Hume stayed off side. Again in the next minute, Vineet saw a loose back pass to Arnab and rushed in to get a blocking touch on Arnab’s clearance. CK Vineet managed to get a touch resulting in Delhi’s ball possession.
In the 26th minute, Roy made a spectacular save to stop Mirabaje’s shot taken after a good block by Sandesh to stop Uchhe’s smashing shot which came to Mirabaje. 34 minutes on the clock, Delhi won a penalty after Prashanth pulled down Seityesen Singh inside the box. Uchhe stepped on to take the spot kick and finish it into the right top corner of the goal.
Milan Singh again executed a good shot on target, but the shot was inches away from the goal as it almost rubbed the wood work. Both the teams went for the half time break with 0-1 score line.
Home side got a corner immediately into the second half which resulted in the equalizer when the super sub, the new boy, Deependra made his mark with directing the ball with a touch which was deflected into the goal by Dias. Deependra again had a chance with a header, but couldn’t quite get it on target.
In the 74th minute, referee again pointed the penalty spot, this time for the home side. It was Deependra again to get the home side a penalty when he was brought down inside the box and Hume doubled the lead from the spot to put his side ahead. An absolute turn around of the game as the yellow sea witnessed an action packed game.
Visitors had great chance in the 88th minute, when Uchhe came inside Kerala’s box to attempt an tap in. But Kalu somehow couldn’t keep his attempt on target. An end to end action was witnessed by the fans all over the world with Kerala creating more chances in the ending minutes. Couple of extra minutes were added to the added minutes for the wasted injury time.
In the closing seconds, Pratik was given the marching orders by the referee after receiving a second yellow and a red for a harsh challenge on Gudjon inside Kerala’s box. This happened to be the last action of the game with Kerala Blasters FC winning over Delhi Dynamos FC with a 2-1 score line.
