THE KEEPERS STEAL THE SHOW IN A STALEMATE IN JAMSEDHPUR

Coming into the game after a frustrating draw against FC Goa a lot of expectations was on the defending champions Bengaluru FC to register their first win of the Hero ISL campaign.

The heroic efforts of Jamshedpur FC keeper Subrata pal meant both the teams had to settle for a point which takes Jamshedpur FC to the top of the league.
The start of the game saw a bright start from the game with Farukh choudhary receiving the first clear chance of the game courtesy of some shocking defending from Bengaluru FC. Minutes later Jamshedpur threatened again, this time from striker Sergio Castel whose effort was denied by the woodwork. As the game progressed bengaluru asserted their dominance in the game as but were kept at bay by the man between the sticks for Jamshedpur.
The biggest chance of the half fell to Harmanjot Khabra in the 20th minute where a brilliant corner from Dimas was played to Juanan who directed the ball to Khabra who tried to tuck in goal but was denied by a magnificent reflex save from Subrata pal.
More misery piled on the defending champions as they lost their defender Albert Serran due to injury and was replaced by Ashique Kuruniyan. End of the first half saw another chance from Bengaluru being denied again as Raphael Augusto went for a shot which was blocked by subrata and the rebound falls to Onwu who fails to make any good contact and the keeper easily collects it.
The second half had the same story as another effort in the 50th minute, this time from Onwu was kept out by the veteran. The 57th minute probably saw the save of the season from gurpreet singh who kept out Farukh Choudhary’s bicycle kick from a piti’s cross.
The second half saw end to end stuff from the both teams as Jamshedpur who were kept quiet in the first half increased their tempo and regularly got behind the visitor’s defense and created more chances.
But it wasn’t meant be as both the teams weren’t able to register a goal mainly due to the heroic efforts of the two keepers and had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The game ended with both the teams maintaining their unbeaten run which helped Jamshedpur FC climb to the top of the league.
