Jamshedpur FC manage to come back from a goal down to share the spoils against ten men highlanders

Northeast United FC hosted Jamshedpur FC in the Hero Indian Super League season 5 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati today

Visitors came out with an attacking composure as they were pressing the home team high and made it difficult for the highlanders to get the ball out of their half for the first 8 minutes. Home team however managed to keep the ball possession and kept the ball in the opponent’s half.

It was the captain, Ogbeche, to score first goal in the 20th minute, after he managed to take an excellent first touch on the gamble inside Jamshedpur’s box, beating two defenders and shooting it into the far post.

Both the teams played similarly with man to man marking, high pressure and also good build up play. Few minutes later Jamshedpur had almost scored the equalizer, but the wood work came to the rescue for the home team.

In the additional minutes of the first half, Mislav Komarski was sent off as he lashes out an elbow on Carlos and Northeast United FC were down to ten men. This happened to be the last action of the half.

Visitors kicked-off the second half with a goal down against the ten men highlanders. Jamshedpur came back into the game in the 49th minute after Farukh smashed the ball into the nets when Pablo found him inside the box with a cross. Home team felt the pressure as they were a man down and the visitors dominated the possession and continued to cause problems.

Rough tackles came in from both the teams in attempts of wining the ball. 77 minutes on the clock, score still was 1-1 with highlanders putting in double shifts. Then came in Cahill to cause more problems for Pawan Kumar, with a sliding attempt. But Pawan Kumar was off his line immediately to grab the ball. In the 90 minute, Mario Arques tried his luck with a long range shot which was deflected for a corner. Jamshedpur were patiently building up the game for a winner. In the final minute of the added time, highlanders came close to scoring the second, but Jamshedpur’s defense managed to push the danger away.

The dramatic game came to an end with 1-1 scoreline and the highlanders managed to keep themselves in the run with 7 points.
